As the president of The Star Foundation, I am immensely proud of the success we achieved in raising funds for the victims of the Turkish earthquakes. The event was an incredible opportunity for us to showcase our dedication to helping communities affected by natural disasters.
We began by setting up a GoFundMe page, which allowed us to reach out to a wide audience and receive donations from people all over the world. We also partnered with local businesses to promote our event, spreading the word through social media, posters, and flyers.
People from all walks of life came together to support our cause, and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our donors. It was incredible to see how much impact we could make when we all worked together towards a common goal. The sense of community and solidarity was palpable, and it was inspiring to see how many people wanted to make a difference. When all was said and done, we had raised a total of $10,000, which was an astounding amount. Of that, $1,400 was raised through our GoFundMe campaign, and the remaining $8,600 came from donations made directly to Turkey. We were thrilled with the results and proud of the work we had done. In addition to the impressive monetary donations, The Star Foundation also collected two van loads of clothing and essential items to send to Turkey. Our team spent several days collecting items from the community, sorting them, and packing them for shipment.
We were humbled by the outpouring of support from the community, as people donated clothes, blankets, shoes, and other essential items to help those affected by the earthquakes. We received an overwhelming number of donations, which allowed us to fill two entire vans with supplies. The process of collecting, sorting, and packing the donations was an emotional one, as we were reminded of the impact that the earthquakes had on the people of Turkey. However, we were also heartened by the generosity of our community and the hope that these donations would bring to those in need.
